Trekking: Discovering the Landscape
Walking is the best way to truly connect with the Tuscan landscape: rolling hills shaped by vineyards and olive groves, timeless villages, castles and abbeys that tell centuries of history.
Our guided trekking experiences are designed to combine nature, culture and a slow pace, along well-marked and scenic trails, perfect for those who enjoy discovering the territory step by step. All routes are guided and flexible, and can be adapted to the level of the group, with shorter options or logistical support available when needed.
Route 1 – Monastero d’Ombrone
Distance: approx. 4 km
Level: easy
Duration: about 1.5 hours
A pleasant walk through the countryside surrounding Castel Monastero, reaching either Montalto Castle or Badia Berardenga.
Route 2 – Castles Loop
Distance: approx. 9 km
Level: intermediate
Duration: just over 3 hours
A circular itinerary entirely along marked trails, crossing a landscape rich in history and panoramic views. This route requires a steady pace and is ideal for guests looking for a complete trekking experience.
Departure is recommended at 9:00 am, with return to the property around 12:30 pm.
Route 3 – From Castel Monastero to Castelnuovo Berardenga
Distance: approx. 7 km
Level: easy to moderate
Duration: just under 3 hours
A particularly scenic linear trek ending in the village of Castelnuovo Berardenga. The route is smooth and panoramic, ideal for those who enjoy walking without major difficulty.
Departure is recommended at 9:00 am, with arrival around 12:00 pm.
From a logistical point of view, a driver is required, as the return to the property is not on foot.
Route 4 – San Gusmè Loop
Distance: less than 5 km
Level: easy
Duration: about 2 hours
A circular itinerary starting and ending in San Gusmè, set among the vineyards of Arceno. This is the ideal route for guests seeking a relaxed walk with open views and an authentic atmosphere.
The trek is combined with a guided visit of the village of San Gusmè and, if desired, Castelnuovo Berardenga.
For logistical reasons, a driver to and from San Gusmè is required.
Practical Information
Guide fee: €150 per person, minimum 2 people
What to bring: comfortable walking shoes (trainers are fine), water, a sun hat, and season-appropriate clothing
